Bitcoin mining electricity cost in India
Updated 2026-08-01 · Informational only · Not financial advice
For most India buyers, electricity costs more over time than the hardware sticker shock. A cheaper miner on expensive residential power can still be a bad buy.
Simple formula
Monthly ₹ ≈ (Watts ÷ 1000) × Hours/day × ₹/kWh × 30
Example: 2760 W · 24 h · ₹8/kWh → (2.76 × 24 × 8 × 30) ≈ ₹15,900 / month in power alone.
Residential vs industrial
- Home / shop residential slabs — often high effective ₹/kWh; noise and breaker limits matter.
- Industrial / commercial / special tariffs — sometimes viable for S19/S21 class machines.
- Always use your bill rate (including fixed charges if material), not a Twitter average.
What to do before buying
- Note machine watts from the compare table
- Run the price & earnings report at ₹6, ₹8, ₹12
- Confirm three-phase / dedicated circuit needs with an electrician
- Only then compare live hardware prices
We do not guarantee mining profit. Network difficulty, BTC price, and uptime all move.
हिन्दी सार: महीने की बिजली = (वाट/1000)×घंटे×₹/यूनिट×30. घर की महंगी बिजली पर बड़ा ASIC अक्सर घाटे का सौदा है।
